Ali Joins the Cast of SLAY at Noor Theatre
Ali is thrilled to be joining the cast of SLAY by acclaimed playwright Yussef El Guindi, directed by Zi Alikhan, as part of Noor Theatre’s celebrated Highlight Reading Series. The in-development reading takes place this Thursday, October 9 at 7pm, bringing together a powerhouse creative team exploring a sharp, timely, and darkly funny new play about love, politics, and a very opinionated dog.
Ali steps into the role of Hossam, a man who wants to focus on his career, but also wants to follow the example of his civic-minded partner, Rachel, who’s out in the streets risking her liberty and career as she agitates and protests on behalf of Palestinians and Gaza. Which their dog, Albert, is not happy about. His politics, as he articulates, lean more conservative. As the political forces of the outside world begin to impinge and muddle the moral compass and trust of this couple (and their dog), events finally threaten to tear them apart with deadly consequences. The cast also features Ali Dachis, Sola Fadiran, Nour Habbash, Nate Miller, and Madeline Weinstein — a phenomenal ensemble bringing El Guindi’s sharp and deeply human story to life.
